25.7 Clean up after ourselves – aim for zero pollution

If you’ve ever travelled to the developing world, you will see rubbish dumped all over the place. New Magna Carta MediumPollution is obvious to the naked eye. You’ll see animals walking round with bits of plastic stuck to them. It is so obviously wrong. In the developed world, most places look clean and tidy but we are just sending our mess to special sites and other countries. We are also creating an invisible mess in the air, water and land. We need to clean up after ourselves if we don’t want to live in an unhealthy rubbish dump but would rather breathe clean air, drink clean water and eat healthy food. Polluters must pay to clean up their mess and be held accountable for the consequences of their actions.
