We have traditionally thought of leadership as something done top-down. We need to empower leadership at all levels, in all roles. All of us can be better at mastering our own character, impulses and desires. Strong leadership is needed in the family, community, schools, at work and in government. There is much practical knowledge and wisdom about leadership skills, as well as research-based academic knowledge, which can be taught through experience, training and mentoring. This should be freely available both online and in every school, university and business.
